Here's what happens if you give a gun to a psychiatrist and turn him loose in the woods near St. John's, Newfoundland. This grouse tasted almost like chicken!

This fine caribou was downed by my colleague Dr. Doug Pratt and finished off by yours truly at 6:30 pm opening day, in area 63, central Newfoundland. Paunched and dressed with surgical skill that only a psychiatrist could apply, the quarters were hauled out to the truck on our backs, a 1/2 hour slog for each quarter.

I dispatched this cow in late October 2000 with a single shot to the head. Paunching and manhandling assistance was courtesy of Kris Luscombe and Keith Vokey, residents in psychiatry. We feel that this hunt should become an annual tradition among psychiatric faculty!
